Regional innovation is critical for creating local economic growth and jobs. The Queensland State government acknowledges this with the Advance Queensland Regional Innovation Hubs Program.  Through September, everyone across Queensland has an opportunity to provide feedback on the program through regional workshops and an online survey.

The workshop for Ipswich is on 7 September at the Civic Centre from 9:00am to 1:00pm.

Queensland is the most geographically diverse state in Australia and each region has unique economic strengths based on natural resources, key infrastructure, entrepreneurial talent, major industries, and research capabilities. These strengths create different opportunities for innovation.

RegionalInnovation

The Honourable Leeanne Enoch recently released a discussion paper on the new $6M Regional Innovation Hubs program.

With this announcement, the Minister is inviting people to have their say on the design of the program, which includes providing input on key issues such as activities to be eligible for funding, how the funding will be distributed and other parameters.

The discussion paper is available on the Advance Queensland website and there are a number of other ways people can contribute.

You can have your say via the online survey, which goes through the issues identified in the discussion paper, and a series of regional workshops will be held around the state in September.

You are encouraged to attend and contribute to the Regional Innovation Hubs Program through regional workshops and/or engaging in the online survey to ‘have your say’.

Consultation closes at 5.00pm on Monday 26 September 2016 and submissions must be lodged in one session.

The full schedule of consultation workshops is as follows – people who are interested in attending can register via the website: http://advance.qld.gov.au/RegionalHubs.
